Who’s Happier? Stay At Home Women or Working Women

Women are considered the primary caregiver globally as they hold families together. When it comes to managing houses and children it is considered a whole responsibility of women only because the role of women is to take care of the house and focused on children and make everyone happy. But in this scenario, no one cares about the feelings of women or their choices, especially when it comes to choosing a career so women face lots of hurdles and challenges in this aspect. Women who choose to stay at home and have no activity to do suffer more from different syndromes and mental health conditions. Research shows that women who stay at home every time have a higher rate of depression and different anxieties and as time passes their condition only gets worse.

Who’s Happier? Stay At Home Women or Working Women

Different research and studies proved that women who stay at home full-time aren’t happy and satisfied as compared to those who work part-time or full-time and are way much happier and healthier. Women who choose to do work suffer less from anxiety and depression and also there are fewer chances of them having empty nest syndrome because they are already focused and busy in their lives. It is not like those women who choose to stay at home full time aren’t happier but they’re less happy than those women who choose to keep themselves occupied with something because at a certain point in the life of every woman they feel lonely and useless just because their kids are an adult now and busy in their own lives so there’s nothing to do and after feeling like this they suffer from different syndromes and depression which not destroy their physical well-being but also badly affect them mentally as well. Research has also proved that those women who choose to work both part-time or full-time are more active and productive and can manage their families and house in a very good manner because they feel happy, healthy, and less stressed in this way.

Empty Nest Syndrome

The most common syndrome by which most females got affected especially if they’re staying at home and not working anywhere is empty nest syndrome. The empty nest syndrome is not a clinical or mental illness. Rather, it is a term used to describe the actual, intense melancholy, anxiety, and loneliness. Women are more prone to suffer from this illness than males since they are more likely to have been the primary caregivers. If other life events are occurring at the same time, such as retirement, menopause, or divorce, it may become more complicated. Many mothers consider being a mother to be their major responsibility and may have devoted 20 years or more of their lives to raising their children. Even for most working mothers, this is true. The mother could believe that her most essential task has been completed once the last child leaves home. The mother may have similar feelings of worthlessness, confusion, and uncertainty about the meaning of her future as anyone who has been laid off. It elicits a range of emotions, including anxiety, exhilaration, relief, and grief. But this condition is not just related to mothers but also to all those females as well who are staying at home completely and not doing any work anywhere just staying at home and following the same routine every day can also lead to different mental health conditions in them because at a certain time in their life they will feel like they’re of no use and this can cause much more damage to their physical health as well.

  • A sense of sadness because they think that they will be alone now.
  • Social exclusion.
  • Worry or stress.
  • Loss of sense of direction because they think they have nothing to do now.
  • Feeling of unease
  • Boredom
  • Perpetual anxiety/guilt
  • Depression

Sometimes, these symptoms start even before anything happens because women tend to overthink a lot, especially when they stay home completely.
